How to factory reset your Android phone
There are a number of reasons why you might need to factory reset your Android phone, whether it’s one of the latest Android smartphones or an older model. Perhaps your phone has been overcrowded with apps and is slowing down, or you’ve recently received an update that is causing problems, or you simply want to reset your phone before selling it. This is how you may restore your Android phone’s factory settings or enter recovery mode.
Before we begin, keep in mind that a factory reset will destroy all of your phone’s data. If you have not done so earlier, you should back up your connections, photos, movies, documents, etc (ideally on the cloud). Do you not know where to preserve your data before a factory reset is performed? First, please read our instructions on how to proceed.
Given the large range of Android phones that I can use in this post the Pixel 4a and Samsung’s Galaxy A51. Because the process is essentially the same on Android One smartphones from Nokia, Xiaomi, Motorola, and other businesses that preserve a “stock” user experience, such as OnePlus, the Pixel serves as a good benchmark.
The Galaxy A51, which runs Samsung’s One UI, makes sense to notice how things differ, given how much Samsung is by far the largest Android maker. Let’s get started now that is out of its way.
The menu settings are the easiest approach to reset your phone. The resetting choice may vary slightly from one mobile phone to another, but you should go right when you have identified the reset and backup menu.
You can start the installation procedure as a new phone on your smartphone and reboot.
Your phone will reboot before you can recover your data and you will have to go through the configuration step again.
You can reset your phone in the factory if you experience update problems or if your phone does not boot. You can activate retrieval mode to a high standard by simultaneously tapping the volume up and power buttons.
As we will see later, according to the gadget you use the process is drastically different. You need to know about a safety mode known as Factory Reset Protection before we start the recovery process.
A few years ago Google launched Factory Reset Protection (FRP), and today it is standard on every Lollipop phone and above. FRP ensures essentially that nobody is allowed to boot and restore your lost or robbed phone and to set it up again. Following a factory reset, you need to connect to the device’s Google Account in mode. If you fail, you can’t continue the configuration.
FRP is enabled when a device is reset in recovery mode, but my experience shows that it is no problem when resetting via settings. If you’d like to learn more about the functionality and how it works, go here.
And You might better visit the above settings page if you are going to sell your device and consider a factory reset. You can utilize recovery mode if you can’t boot into your device and you must clear your data. Now that you know the risks, it is like resetting your phone using recovery mode.
You’ll enable your phone and restore settings for the factory. Your phone will reboot before you can recover your data and you will have to go through the configuration step again.
This will switch on your phone and restore the settings of the factory. The phone goes through the basic setup procedure as though the next time you switch it on it, it were a fresh new phone. Once everything is in place, you may begin recovering your data from the backup location.
If your Google accounts have not yet been deleted, Factory reset protection will start the device if you’re resetting your phone in recovery mode, as previously mentioned. Do sure you erase your Google accounts and turn off security on the lock screen before using recovery mode to make a tough reset.
